After hearing stories about both of their childhoods, they discuss "coolness" and what makes someone cool in childhood & how it may be different than in adulthood. They also discuss what our faith has to do with "coolness" and a revelation Taylor had that shouldn't be a revelation.

Finally, they talk about how old our Church is, some of the things about it that have made it stand the test of time that might also be the same reasons we get frustrated with it. Fr. Anthony shares some good ol fancy Catholic words that Taylor (and you!) have to guess what they mean.

Taylor also approaches Fr. Anthony with a dilemma about not wanting to pray bold prayers. He was recently in a couple of situations where people wanted him to pray for big healings or miracles and he just couldn't for some reason. Was it prudence? Fear? Both? Fr. Anthony has some great advice!

Finally, they discuss Fr. Anthony's favorite topic: LAY PEOPLE! Taylor has some questions about how lay people's role of priest, prophet and king should play out in a parish/diocese that has ordained men also being priest, prophet and king. Where is the line between what God has called me to do and still being respectful of the structure God put in place in the hierarchy of the Church?

I'm usually focused on the present or working towards building a better future that I forget to be thankful for what has already happened. That is why every year, we do a "State of the Forte" as our first episode of the new year to see all the cool things we experienced together.

Next, they play a "get to know the cohosts" game where they each submitted random facts about themselves to Taylor before the show. He presents them to the group and they have to guess which host that statement belonged to. We learned a lot of strange, random and concerning things about our fellow hosts.

Finally, they play a staple game of the show: Life Verse. They each have to pick a random verse from Scripture and apply it to one of the other hosts' lives. It's somehow a perfect combination of earnestness, spiritual depth & stupidity.

Parents often feel unwelcome in Mass with their little kids. There are often glares and "shushes" from other parishioners. Because of this, there has been a public outcry for allowing and welcoming kids in Mass. BUT Taylor thinks the pendulum has squng too far! With such a focus on welcoming kids in Mass, there has been less of a push on parents parenting their kids during the Mass. He shares a horrendous story of this happening at a recent Mass and tries to bring the conversation back to the middle and some sanity.

Taylor's next take on martyrdom has Fr. Anthony very worried about him. Taylor wonders why Christians have to accept martydom in the case of someone making you deny your faith. Why not let them hear what they want to hear knowing you don't mean it? Why not just plan on going to Confession? How does culpability come in to play if you're forced to do something at gun point. He asks the questions & Fr. Anthony tries his best to answer.

Finally, after the two hot takes, Taylor plays it safe but saying how dumb he thinks satanism is. It is the belief system that makes the least amount of sense. Like seeing the losing side and picking them. Very odd.
