377: GOF Wedding, Internet Friends & Long Homilies w/ Allison Sullivan

Taylor shares about he and his wife's recent trip to North Carolina for the Game of Favorites wedding between our friends Peter and Yenza. They met dozens of internet friends in person for the first time, had a tremendous time celebrating the newlyweds & some fancy food(that made Taylor realize he's an idiot!) This leads to Allison sharing about her own wedding, some hilarious stories of her kids in Mass & Schitt's Creek(of course!).

Taylor also shares about one of the longest homilies he's ever heard and some of the strangest things he saw at a recent Mass. It's like they did EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to make the Mass a hostage situation.

Fr. Anthony Sciarappa cohosts in what may be our fastest paced joke fest ever recorded! We chat about our weekends including a tall hat guy, preaching to plants, angry Taylor, terrible travel and making Fr. Anthony speechless.

Our guest this week is recording artist Amanda Vernon! She's doing great work as the Catholic Alycia Keys through her music and new book "When God Wrecks Your Romance." She somehow gets Fr. Anthony to recall his dating life before the priesthood and it was beautiful to watch unfold. She is an absolute joy with a fun life story to share unlike any you've heard before. (AmandaVernon.com)

In the final segment, we check in to see if Fr. Anthony is giving any good homilies lately and Taylor gets to live the dream of what every lay person has wanted to do during homilies since the dawn of time. Enjoy as you live vicariously though Taylor.

109: Keeping Things Simple & Humble w/ The Coolest Monk EVER!

Fr. Anthony Sciarappa co-hosts(WHAT!?!?!) as we talk about what Taylor learned about keeping things simple from the high school students he was on retreat with this weekend. (The students may or may not have been a little comically confused)

In the second segment, we are joined by a listener favorite Fr. Augustine Wetta. He rejoins the show(from his high school classroom with actual students in it) to talk about his new novel "The Eighth Arrow" which explores what it would be like if Odysseus from the Odyssey was in Dante's Inferno. The book is a thoroughly entertaining jailbreak story, full of allusions to great works of old and the lessons contained. A segment with the monk who breaks all monk stereotypes is always entertaining.

In the final segment, Taylor and Fr. Anthony bring back the "Mass Text" segment to revisit this past Sunday's readings, see how Father's homily went, discuss being bad at humility & why truths survive the test of time.
