I'm terrible at looking back at the past and seeing all the good things God did in my life. I'm usually focused on the present or working towards building a better future that I forget to be thankful for what has already happened. That is why every year, we do a "State of the Forte" as our first episode of the new year to see all the cool things we experienced together.

In today's episode, Taylor looks at the highlights of the show from the past year, counts down our top ten episodes, our top ten moments and shares how the show has grown. We also review the additions to our YouTube channel in 2022 and the rest of the work we did through producing other great Catholic podcasts and our events.

Next, Taylor posits that priest seminary formation takes way too long and yet often isn't enough. The three amigos put their heads together to try and find a middle ground solution.

To close the show, they discuss a recent interview with the awesome head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike Tomlin. They kick it off with a conversation about the phrase "If you're bored at Mass, you'll be bored in Heaven." It's a common phrase from people in ministry and online personalities but Taylor doesn't agree with it anymore and he explains why.

Next, they discuss how strange the idea of auxiliary bishops actually is and Taylor argues that Bishops making up rules for their comfort makes him wonder why he has to follow random Catholic rules. Are the rules Pharisaical? The convo includes thoughts on fasting requirements and...NFP!?!?

In the second segment, we're joined by Brian Montfort of the Work To Game YouTube channel. With two of the biggest names in Catholic gaming, the guys chat about some of the pitfalls of gaming, how to avoid them and ultimately while they still play. Taylor tries to make strange comparisons between video games and the Church. Does it work? That's up to you to decide.

In the final segment(recorded three hours later), Taylor shares that his deepest recent spiritual insight is that Jesus is a millennial which leads "seamlessly" into a conversation of a conference Jon went to recently about how to engage youth culture. This leads to a more broad conversation about how we live our lives between action and inaction.
